Mobilio engine stalling rough idle
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Mobilio with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting, stalling during idle, and an illuminated check engine light. The problem may be linked to faulty sensors, such as the crankshaft or camshaft sensors, which can affect ignition timing. The issue was resolved by replacing a defective encoder wheel on the camshafts, which was causing the camshaft sensor to malfunction.

It actually dies sometimes. Sensor testing? Is that something I can do myself, or should I get a professional involved? What am I looking for? How would the crankshaft sensor relate?

Well, it's just a guess, but if the crankshaft or camshaft sensor are off, the ignition timing will be bad. You could try cleaning them, but honestly, with those symptoms and that mileage, I'd probably just bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. Save yourself the headache, you know?

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a mechanic, and it turned out the encoder wheel on the camshafts was defective, causing the camshaft sensor to malfunction. Total repair cost was 695€ Appreciate the input!

Hmm, could be a few things. Is it just rough at idle, or does it actually die? Have you tried any sensor testing? Maybe crankshaft sensor or camshaft position?
