Temperature fluctuations, yes! I didn't think much of it initially, but now that you mention it, the engine temperature gauge does seem a bit erratic. Smells, not really, but I'll pay closer attention. Did yours turn out to be the exhaust temperature sensor then?

Given the temperature fluctuations and the other symptoms, it does sound like a faulty exhaust temperature sensor is the most likely culprit. In my case, the garage confirmed a leak in the exhaust system damaged the sensor. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional to confirm and avoid further damage to other exhaust components.

Thanks a bunch! I appreciate the insight. Looks like a trip to the workshop is in order. Just got it back. It was indeed the exhaust temperature sensor. The whole thing, including the sensor replacement and fixing the leak, set me back 265€. Runs like a dream now!

I had similar issues with my Honda Mobilio. The check engine light and reduced power are definitely concerning. Have you noticed any unusual temperature fluctuations or any strange smells coming from the exhaust?
