Mobilio fuel filter heater issue

I'm experiencing a concerning issue with my 2015 Honda Mobilio diesel. It's done only 20432 km. The error memory indicates a fuel filter heater problem. I've noticed reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and uneven idling. Research suggests a defective cable or plug connection could be the cause. Has anyone encountered anything similar?

A 2015 Honda Mobilio diesel is experiencing reduced engine power, poor engine response, higher fuel consumption, and uneven idling, with an error memory indicating a fuel filter heater problem. The issue may be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. A similar case was resolved by addressing a bad plug connection, and it is recommended to have the vehicle checked by a trusted workshop to diagnose and fix the problem.

I understand your concern; these issues can be frustrating. I also own a Mobilio diesel, and your symptoms sound remarkably similar to an issue I had a while back. "Uneven idling" in particular is something to pay attention to. Did you recently refill your car? Reduced engine power can stem from issues with the fuel delivery system, and poor engine response will naturally follow. Could you describe when this started happening? Also, did you verify the state of the filter itself?

Thank you so much for your prompt response! This started happening quite suddenly, over the course of a day or two. I did fill up the tank a day before I really noticed the problem. I haven't had a chance to check the filter's physical state myself – I lack the proper tools and expertise to do so safely. Was your problem exactly the same? If so, how did you solve it?

Yes, my Mobilio presented almost identical symptoms: rough idle and poor acceleration, and eventually, the error memory pointed to the same fuel filter heater issue. Given the sudden onset and the fact you recently refuelled, there's a slight chance it could be contaminated fuel, but I wouldn't bet on that. Considering your limited tools, my advice would be to take it to a trusted workshop. In the end, the bad plug connection was the source of all problems. If I remember correctly, the repair cost me around 95€. They'll be able to properly diagnose and rectify the defective connection, plus they can check the state of the filter itself.

I sincerely appreciate your advice and sharing your experience! Knowing that someone else had a similar issue with their Mobilio and that a defective connection was indeed the culprit is reassuring. I will certainly take your recommendation and schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop as soon as possible. Fingers crossed it's a straightforward fix as it was in your case. Thank you again for your help!
