Mobilio gear shift indicator malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda Mobilio diesel with 56159 km is experiencing gear shift indicator malfunctions, including issues with gear engagement, implausible shifting behavior, and grinding noises. The problem is suspected to be due to a defective control unit, as indicated by an error stored in the error memory and a non-functional gear selection display. The issue was confirmed and resolved at a workshop by replacing the defective control unit.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, the shift knob feels normal. There's no unusual resistance or anything like that. The problem seems to be entirely with the electronic display and the actual gear engagement. I'm just trying to get a sense of how common this is before I take it in.

Ah, okay. If the knob's fine but the gears are acting up and the display is dead, that control unit thing sounds plausible. Probably best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks, I appreciate the confirmation. Just got it back from the workshop. You were spot on – it was a defective control unit. Cost me 1000€ to repair. Hopefully, this information will be helpful to others experiencing similar issues!

Sounds rough. Is the shift knob itself feeling normal?
