Mobilio power steering failure
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Honda Mobilio diesel with 50,000 km experienced power steering issues, including a vibrating steering wheel, spongy handling, and increased steering effort, accompanied by a dashboard error. Possible causes discussed included a loose cable or plug, low hydraulic fluid, or an electrical issue such as a blown fuse. The problem was ultimately traced to a defective cable to the power steering unit, which was repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the hydraulic fluid, and it seems to be at the right level. It does have electric steering, so I'll check the fuses. But is it normal that the error gets stored?

Yeah, the stored error definitely points to something electrical. With my Astra, the error was also stored. I'd say check the fuses, but honestly, those symptoms plus the error are a good reason to get it checked out by a workshop. Could save you a headache in the long run.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I checked the fuses, and they seemed fine, so I took it to a workshop. Turns out a cable to the power steering unit was indeed defective, just as I suspected. Repair cost me 95€, I'm so happy it's resolved!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. The steering felt really off, especially at lower speeds. Did you check the hydraulic fluid level? If it's low, that could definitely cause issues. Or, since yours is a 2018, does it have electric steering? Maybe a fuse?
