Moco active hood fault

Hi, I've got a 2009 Nissan Moco with a gasoline engine that's throwing up an active hood fault. The on-board computer is displaying the message, and the airbag warning lamp is illuminated on the speedometer. I've checked the error memory and it's definitely there. Strangely, it seems like the spring actuators have even been triggered. Mileage is sitting at 232762 km. Based on what I've read, a defective acceleration sensor is the likely culprit, leading to a repair cost of around 315€. Has anyone else run into this? Any thoughts before I start tearing things apart?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got a Moco too, and I had something similar happen a while back. Airbag light and all. What's an active hood fault though?

Interesting! So the airbag light came on at the same time as the active hood message? Did your mechanic also point to the acceleration sensor? I am curious if you had to pay a similar amount.

Yeah, airbag light was definitely on at the same time. Honestly, I didn't even bother trying to figure it out myself. Just took it straight to the shop. They sorted it, though I can't remember exactly what they did. I'd say take it to a professional if you're not sure.

Thanks for the info! It's reassuring to know someone else has experienced the same thing. It was the acceleration sensor. Got it replaced and everything's back to normal. The bill came to 315€, just like I had feared. Appreciate the help!
