Modus fog sensor issues
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Modus owner is experiencing issues with the fog sensor, leading to problems with the air conditioning, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug connection related to the fog sensor. A similar case suggests checking the wiring harness near the sensor for corrosion or breaks, and a visit to a mechanic is recommended for diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you remember exactly where on the wiring harness you found the issue? Any tips on getting to it without dismantling the dashboard? I'm trying to avoid a full exploratory surgery!

I can't recall the exact location, sorry. It was a while ago, and my mechanic sorted it. Given the symptoms, though, it's likely the fog sensor is the culprit. I'd suggest visiting a workshop. They should be able to diagnose and fix the defective cable or plug connection.

That's what I suspected. I was hoping to avoid it, but it sounds like a trip to the mechanic is unavoidable. I'll post the resolution. The repair cost was 95€.

I had something similar happen with my Modus. Same symptoms: AC dead, nozzles freezing, mirror heating kaput. Have you checked the wiring harness near the sensor? It's a common spot for corrosion and breaks.
