Modus fresh air blower failure

My 2004 Renault Modus with a gasoline engine has a dead fresh air blower. Diagnostic tool shows an error. Has anyone dealt with this before? Suspecting the blower motor.

Sounds familiar. Check the fan speed controller. It's a common issue and cheaper than replacing the blower motor. Did you check the electrical wiring, too?

Where exactly is the fan speed controller located? What electrical wiring issues should I look for? Melted connectors? Frayed wires? Is it as simple as checking the voltage at the blower motor when it's supposed to be running?

Yes, check for voltage at the blower. In my case, the fan speed controller was the issue. However, after checking the wiring, I ended up taking it to a workshop, because I had no more ideas. The problem was the blower motor and it cost me 365€.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the wiring and controller first, then brace myself for a blower motor replacement. 365€ isn't exactly pocket change, but at least I have an idea of what to expect. I really appreciate your help!
