Modus insufficient heating
Summary of the thread
A Renault Modus owner is experiencing insufficient heating and suspects a defective water valve, possibly due to a cable or plug issue. Another owner suggests checking the coolant level and mentions a potential valve blockage as a cause. After confirming the coolant level is normal, the original owner decides to visit a workshop for a detailed inspection, where the water valve is identified as the issue, with an estimated repair cost of around 95€.

Thanks. I checked the coolant level, and it's normal. Could you elaborate on the valve blockage you encountered? Was there a specific error code? Also, which water valve was it?

Considering your coolant level is fine, I can only suggest visiting a local expert for a system health check. They can analyze the error code and diagnose it better than I can here. My experience was a bit different and could have been related to something else.

I appreciate the advice. I'll schedule a workshop visit for a detailed inspection. As suspected, the issue was the water valve; it will cost around 95€ to replace. Thanks for your help.

I also own a Modus with the same engine. I experienced similar symptoms some time ago. Low coolant levels may cause insufficient heating, but the error message suggests a possible valve blockage. Have you checked your coolant level lately?
