Modus NOx Catalyst Aging Exhaust Leak

I have a 2007 Renault Modus with a gasoline engine and 99294 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and error memory indicates NOx storage catalyst aging. Exhaust leak is also noticeable. Likely cause seems to be a leak in the exhaust system.

Whoa, sounds familiar! I've got a Modus too, and had similar NOx issues. Did you check the exhaust manifold gasket? That was the culprit for me.

It wasn't super obvious at first, but a bit of careful listening around the manifold when the engine was cold revealed it. Still, I'd recommend getting it properly smoke-tested at a workshop to be sure. Ended up costing me 265€ to repair.
