Modus tire pressure warning

I'm experiencing a weird issue with my 2005 Renault Modus diesel. The tire pressure seems consistently low, and I'm getting a tire pressure warning light. I checked the tire pressure manually, and it confirms the reading. I also scanned the car's error memory, and it shows a sensor fault related to the tire pressure monitoring system. Could this be just a faulty sensor? It has 182289 km on the clock.

I had a similar problem with my Modus. The error message drove me nuts! Does it happen all the time, or just sometimes? Maybe the air valve is broken?

It's pretty constant, happens almost immediately after starting the car. The air valve seems fine, no visible damage.

Ah, constant is worse than intermittent. With mine being intermittent, I was hoping it was a loose wire. Since yours is constant, and you've checked the basics, it's almost certainly the sensor battery. They don't last forever. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. They'll be able to confirm and replace the sensor.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the sensor battery. They replaced the sensor, and the error is gone. The repair cost me 280€.
