Mokka Active Hood Fault

I've got a 2022 Vauxhall Mokka Electric and the computer is showing 'Active hood fault' and the airbag light is on. I've done 214615 km. The OBD reader confirms an error with the active hood, and it looks like the spring actuators have triggered. Could this be a serious safety concern?

Sounds like a headache. Active hood is all about pedestrian safety, like a crumple zone for the hood. Airbag light on usually means the car thinks it's been in a shunt. Has the car had any front-end work or even a hard bump lately?

No, the car hasn't been in any collisions or had any front-end repairs that I know of. Could a faulty sensor cause this? I've read about acceleration sensors playing a role in the active hood system.

Yeah, acceleration sensor gone bad is the likely culprit. It's like a smoke detector that's too sensitive. Best get it checked, because if it thinks you've hit something, the airbags might deploy unexpectedly. A workshop should be able to pinpoint it.

Thanks so much for your help! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was indeed the acceleration sensor. They replaced it, and the error messages are now gone. The total cost was 315€. I really appreciate your advice!
