Mokka air valve hose issue

Thanks for sharing your experience! You mentioned a cracked hose on your Peugeot. Was it visually obvious, or did you need to use a smoke test or similar diagnostic method to identify the leak? I've visually inspected the hoses, but nothing immediately stands out.

For me, it wasn't immediately obvious. It was a tiny hairline crack, hidden under a bit of gunk. I only found it when I started wiggling the hoses around while the engine was running – that's when I heard a slight hissing sound. Honestly, if you are not sure, take it to a workshop before it gets worse. Trust me, it's worth the peace of mind! Imagine your engine is a racehorse, and that valve is its lungs - you want them working properly!

I appreciate the advice and the comparison with the racehorse! I took the Mokka to a workshop, and indeed, it was a defective hose connection from the pump to the air valve. The repair cost 175€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar nightmare with my old Peugeot, also a gasoline engine. Check engine light kept popping up, and the car was idling rougher than a badger in a tumble dryer. Turned out to be a cracked hose leading to the air valve. Is the throttle body clean? A dirty throttle body can cause similar symptoms. It's like trying to breathe through a clogged straw!
