Mokka brake light fault

I've got a 2016 Vauxhall Mokka with a gasoline engine, and I'm having some weird brake light issues. The mileage is at 94118 km. The error memory has a fault stored, the brake lights sometimes don't work, and I'm getting an error message popping up on the infotainment system. I've checked the bulbs, but they seem fine. Could it be the brake light switch? Anyone else had this?

I had something similar with my Mokka. Is the error intermittent, or is it always there? It could be a dodgy connection somewhere. Have you tried pressing the brake pedal a few times to see if it makes a difference?

Yeah, the error is intermittent. Sometimes the lights work fine, other times nothing. I've tried pumping the pedal, but no luck. Where exactly was the dodgy connection on yours?

I never found the specific connection myself. I fiddled around a bit, and it seemed to improve, but it kept coming back. Ended up taking it to a workshop, and they sorted it. Probably worth getting it checked out if it's a safety issue with the brake lights.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the brake light switch. Apparently, I somehow triggered it accidentally. They reset the error and it’s all good now. Cost me nothing!
