Mokka Camshaft Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Vauxhall Mokka diesel experienced poor starting and engine stalling, with the check engine light on at around 21,874 km. Diagnostics indicated a potential camshaft sensor defect and a faulty encoder wheel on the camshafts. The suggested solution was to replace the camshaft sensor and encoder wheel, which resolved the issue, resulting in the car running smoothly again.

That is interesting. Can you elaborate on the symptoms you observed with your Volvo? Was the crankshaft sensor failure also accompanied by stalling, and did it resolve any ignition timing issues?

Stalling was a big one, yeah, especially when cold. Replaced the sensor and the timing settled right down. Given your camshaft sensor code, you are probably looking at the same sort of fix. Get it to a workshop asap.

Thanks for sharing. I took it to the workshop. The issue was indeed the camshaft sensor and encoder wheel. The repair, including parts and labor, was 695€. The car now runs smoothly.

Sounds familiar! Had similar trouble with my old Volvo, though it was the crankshaft sensor causing the problems there. Is your ignition timing all over the place?
