Mokka charge air temperature sensor fault

My 2013 Vauxhall Mokka diesel has an issue. At 198406 kilometers, the check engine light came on, power is reduced, and there's a whistling noise that turns into a loud hissing when I accelerate. Diagnostics say it's the charge air temperature sensor. I think it might be the cable or plug. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. Is the hissing constant, or does it change with engine load? A faulty connection there could definitely cause the ECU to pull back power.

The hissing gets louder with engine load, especially when accelerating fast. Could a bad connection really cause the sensor to read wrong and make the car perform worse?

Yes, absolutely. Variable hissing under load points to that connection being the culprit. I'd still recommend a workshop to confirm the fault. These sensors can be finicky.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the connection was bad. They replaced the cable and plug for 95€. The check engine light is off, and the Mokka is back to normal. Thanks for the help.
