Mokka door lock failure

I'm losing my mind. My 2017 Vauxhall Mokka with a gasoline engine has doors that won't lock or unlock. A guy said the door contact signal is faulty and it's probably a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else run into this?

I feel your pain! I've got a Mokka too, and I had a similar problem last year. Check your wiring harness where it goes into the door. Those wires can get brittle and crack. Have you had a look at the door switch itself? Might be worth a shot before you start tearing everything apart.

Thanks for the tip! Wiring harness, huh? So, you're saying that's the most likely culprit? Is it a pain to get to? I'm fairly handy, but electrics aren't my strong suit. Any specific spots on the harness I should be looking at?

Yeah, for me it was definitely the wiring harness. Not the easiest job. If you're not super comfortable with electrics, honestly, save yourself the headache and take it to a workshop. Could be a car sensor issue as well. They should be able to diagnose it properly and fix it without you frying something important. Sometimes it's worth paying the pros.

You're a lifesaver! I took your advice and went to a local workshop. Turns out you were spot on. Wiring harness was the issue. Cost me 95€, but at least my doors are working again! Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. You saved me hours of frustration!
