Mokka DPF Exhaust Pressure Sensor

I've got a 2012 Vauxhall Mokka, diesel engine, about 78k km on the clock, and a real head-scratcher of a problem. The warning light in the speedometer is on, I'm getting smoke when accelerating, and it seems the DPF just won't regenerate. From what I've read, it sounds like it could be the exhaust back pressure sensor acting up? Any thoughts?

Sounds familiar! I have a Mokka too, and had similar symptoms last year. Smoke, the light. DPF regeneration was a no-go. Is the car feeling sluggish, like it's lost some power?

Sluggish is the word! Definitely not as nippy as it used to be. How did you figure out it was the exhaust back pressure sensor for sure? And was it a pain to fix?

The sluggishness confirmed it for me. I went to a workshop who plugged it into the computer and it pointed directly to the exhaust pressure sensor being faulty. Get it checked! Replacing it sorted everything out perfectly, and cost me around 245€ for parts and labor.

Cheers for the info! I'll book it in at a local garage and get them to check the exhaust back pressure sensor pronto. Fingers crossed it's a cheap and easy fix like yours was! I'll post what happens once it's sorted.
