Mokka engine misfire and jerking

I'm having a strange issue with my 2016 Vauxhall Mokka, gasoline engine. It's done 203903 km. The engine is running unevenly, and the check engine light is on. I've read the error memory, and it's showing a misfire. When accelerating, there's noticeable jerking. I've checked the ignition coil, which seems fine at first glance. Could it be the fuel injectors or perhaps an oxygen sensor playing up? Anyone else experienced something similar?

Mokka, eh? Sounds familiar! I had almost the same symptoms with my Mokka, misfires and jerking. Did you check for any hissing sounds or signs of a leak around the exhaust system? That's where my trouble was hiding. Is the exhaust smell stronger than usual?

Interesting! A leak in the exhaust system, you say? I hadn't considered that. I'll have a closer look tomorrow. Was your check engine light also on, and did it throw a specific code related to the exhaust? How did you pinpoint the leak?

Yep, check engine light was blazing away merrily! Never thought of the exhaust at first, but once I heard the hissing, it clicked. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop after that. Best to have them check it properly and weld it up. Saves a lot of hassle.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to my local garage, and you were spot on – it was a leak in the exhaust system. Repair cost me 265€. Runs like a dream now! Much appreciated.
