Mokka Gearbox Slipping
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Vauxhall Mokka-e with high mileage is experiencing gearbox slipping and clunky shifting, accompanied by grinding noises. Grinding, yeah, sometimes I hear that! Where exactly do I look for the transfer case oil, and is it something I can top up myself, or am I gonna mess it up even more?

If you're hearing grinding, and the gears are slipping, it's past a simple top-up. The transfer case might have defective gears. Best get it checked by a workshop before you do more harm than good.

Appreciate the reality check. Garage quoted 330€ for the repair, turns out the gears in the transfer case were indeed defective. New oil and some TLC later, she's shifting smooth again! Thanks for the help!

I had similar gearbox issues with my Mokka, though mine's petrol. Check your transfer case oil. It's a known weak spot. Any weird noises, like grinding or whining?
