Mokka Heated Mirror Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Vauxhall Mokka with a diesel engine experienced a failure in its heated mirrors, with diagnostics indicating an error in the mirror heating circuit. The issue was suspected to be a dodgy connection, similar to a problem encountered by another vehicle owner who found a corroded connector block within the mirror housing. The solution involved cleaning the corroded connector and replacing a damaged wire section, which resolved the issue at a local garage.

The diagnostic doesn't specify which mirror, just says 'Mirror heating circuit defective'. Was getting to that connector block a pain on the BMW? Any special tools needed, or is it fairly straightforward?

Access was quite awkward. Several layers of plastic trim and a torx screw were hidden behind the mirror glass. Proceed with caution! Given your diagnostic result and mileage, I'd strongly suggest a workshop visit. It is probably just a loose or corroded connection but can easily turn into a larger issue.

Took it to a local garage. You were spot on – corroded connector within the mirror housing. They cleaned it and replaced a short section of damaged wire. Bill came to 95€, so not too bad. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my old BMW. Mirror heating failed, and it was a corroded connector block within the mirror housing. Did your diagnostic specify which mirror is throwing the error, or is it a general fault?
