Mokka Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue

My 2014 Vauxhall Mokka diesel is giving me grief. The check engine light is on, and it feels like I've lost a lot of power. The engine response is sluggish, and I'm filling up the tank twice as often. I'm getting the feeling it's the manifold pressure sensor, possibly due to a vacuum leak. Anyone else had this?

I had something similar with my Mokka. Same symptoms – check engine light, power loss, the works. Did you check the sensor readings? That's where I started.

Yeah, I checked the readings, and they're all over the place. That's why I'm leaning towards the manifold pressure sensor. Was it definitely the sensor for you, or could it have been something else causing the dodgy readings?

For me, it was definitely the sensor. The readings were erratic, and replacing it sorted everything out. If yours are fluctuating wildly, I'd bet that's your culprit too. I'd take it to a workshop if I were you.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – faulty manifold pressure sensor, likely due to a vacuum leak. New sensor and a bit of vacuum hose later, and she's running like a dream! Cost me 235€, but worth it to get the power back.
