Mokka oil pressure warning
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Vauxhall Mokka with a gasoline engine and high mileage displayed an oil pressure warning light. Despite normal oil levels, the issue was likely due to oil contamination from exceeding the maintenance interval, leading to oil sludge. The recommended solution was to visit a workshop for an oil change and filter replacement, which successfully resolved the problem.

Contamination, as in an oil leak? Or something else? What do you mean by exceeding the maintenance interval, and how would I know if I have oil sludge? Is it easy to spot, or does it require some expertise?

Not necessarily a leak, but contamination within the oil itself. Exceeding the maintenance interval means you've gone too long without an oil change. Oil sludge is a thick, dark deposit that forms when oil degrades. It's not always easy to spot without taking things apart. I suggest taking your Mokka to a workshop so they can have a look at the oil filter and oil condition.

Thank you for the advice. I took the car to the workshop as suggested, and it turned out the maintenance interval had indeed been exceeded, leading to oil contamination. An oil change and new filter, cost me 165€, and the issue is resolved.

I had a similar issue with my Mokka. The oil pressure light came on intermittently. Have you checked for oil contamination? Sometimes exceeding the maintenance interval can cause oil sludge, blocking the oil passages and triggering those warnings.
