Mokka Oil Pressure Warning Lamp

Morning. I've got a 2019 Vauxhall Mokka, diesel engine, currently sitting at 205784 km. Recently the oil pressure warning lamp has been lighting up, accompanied by a warning light on the speedometer. I've pulled the error codes, and it's showing a fault with the engine oil temperature sensor. Suspect it's a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else seen this before?

I had a similar gremlin in my Mokka not too long ago. Same symptoms: oil pressure light, warning on the dash, and the error code pointing to the oil temperature sensor. Before you dive too deep, have you checked the sensor's wiring harness and connector for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose pins? A high resistance in the circuit due to bad contact points can throw off the sensor's readings and trigger those warnings. Also, what's the oil level looking like?

Good shout on the wiring harness. I'll double-check that properly. When you had the issue, was the ECU also storing an error in its memory, or just the warning lights? And I checked the oil level, it's spot on.

Yeah, the ECU definitely had a stored error code relating to the oil temperature sensor when I experienced it. Given you've checked the oil level and are planning to inspect the wiring, I reckon it's time to get it to a workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose the sensor with an oscilloscope and measure resistance, then pinpoint the fault.

Cheers for the confirmation. Took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turned out to be a faulty connection, just like we suspected. 95€ later, and it's all sorted.
