Mokka oxygen sensor failure

I own a 2014 Vauxhall Mokka with a diesel engine. The check engine light is on, and error memory indicates an oxygen sensor heater failure. I've also noticed higher fuel consumption. Could a defective cable or plug connection cause this?

I had a similar issue with my Mokka. Same symptoms – check engine light and increased fuel usage. Have you checked the sensor testing?

Thank you for your reply. Could you please elaborate on which sensor you're referring to? Also, I am a novice, so how would I proceed with sensor testing?

Yes, it was the oxygen sensor for me as well. I'm no expert myself. My advice would be to take it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose the issue properly and avoid potential damage to the exhaust system.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I will take it to a professional. The error was indeed caused by a defective cable, and the oxygen sensor has been replaced for 95€.
