Mokka power steering vibration

I'm experiencing a power steering issue with my 2021 Vauxhall Mokka (gasoline engine). Mileage is at 124091 km. The steering wheel vibrates/shakes, handling feels spongy, and there's an error code stored. Steering requires significantly more effort, like the power steering is failing. I suspect it might be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else encountered this?

Whoa, that sounds rough! I've got a Mokka too, and I had something kinda similar happen. My steering was acting all weird – not exactly vibrating, but definitely felt like I was fighting it, especially at lower speeds. Did you check your hydraulic fluid levels? Or maybe it's the steering rack. It could also be something with the electric steering system itself. I'm no expert, but those are the things that came to my mind.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the input! When you say 'fighting it,' was it a constant thing, or intermittent? And did you notice any specific conditions (like temperature or road surface) that made it worse? Also, how did you resolve the problem in the end?

Okay, so it wasn't constant, more like intermittent, and seemed worse when the engine was cold. Road surface didn't seem to matter. Honestly, after a bit of research and freaking out, I took it straight to a workshop. They sorted it out quickly. I'd recommend getting yours checked professionally, especially with that error code showing up. Better safe than sorry, right?

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a workshop. As it turns out, it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection of the component. The repair cost was 95€.
