Weird noises? Now that you mention it, there was a sort of whirring sound coming from the front end for a while before all this started. Did yours do that too? Were you able to troubleshoot it?

Yes, a whirring sound too! The underlying cause of my problems was a defective speed sensor. You may need to visit your local mechanic.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the workshop this morning, and you were spot on – defective speed sensor. Repair cost me 250€, but at least it's sorted. Cheers for the help!

I had something similar with my Mokka. Did you happen to notice if the fan was making any weird noises before it went completely kaput? My car was overheating just like you described. I was worried about the cooling system and causing even more damage.
