Mokka Tailgate Hall Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Vauxhall Mokka-e owner experienced a tailgate issue, receiving an error message and the tailgate not opening fully. The suspected cause was a hall sensor fault, possibly due to a cable or plug connection issue. Another owner with a similar problem suggested checking the sensor wiring, as a loose connection might be the cause. Ultimately, the issue was resolved at a workshop, where a defective connection to the hall sensor was identified and repaired.

When you say 'similar issue', did yours stop opening completely, or was it just struggling? I checked the wiring visually, but I don't have the tools to properly test it. The hall sensor info was on some random forum. Anything else I can look at before going to a workshop?

Mine was struggling at first, then stopped opening completely. If you've checked the wiring and you're still getting errors, especially with the hall sensor, get it checked out. Could be a simple fix, but messing with sensor wiring without the right tools might make things worse. I took mine in, and they sorted it quickly.

Took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was a defective connection to the hall sensor. They quoted 95€ which seems reasonable, and it's fixed now! Glad I didn't try to DIY it and potentially screw things up even more.

I have a Mokka too, and that sounds familiar. I had a similar tailgate issue a while back. Wasn't opening properly and was throwing errors. Did you check the sensor wiring thoroughly? Sometimes it's a loose connection. Where did you read about the hall sensor? Wondering about sensor calibration.
