Mokka transmission control unit failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Vauxhall Mokka diesel is experiencing transmission issues, including non-functional paddle shifters, slipping gearbox, grinding noises, and frequent limp mode activation. These symptoms, along with stored error codes, suggest a likely failure of the transmission control unit. It is recommended to have a certified repair shop perform diagnostics to confirm the issue, with repair costs estimated around 1000€.

Slow response AND stored error codes, yup! So it's confirmed – the control unit is the culprit? How much did it sting?

Given the symptoms and the error codes, a defective transmission control unit is highly probable. I suggest scheduling a diagnostics appointment with a certified repair shop, as they possess the expertise to perform comprehensive diagnostics and confirm the issue. If confirmed, you can anticipate repair costs in the vicinity of 1000€.

Thanks for the heads-up! Workshop confirmed it’s the transmission control unit. Quoted around 1000€, like you said. Ouch. Time to bite the bullet.

I had similar transmission issues with my Mokka. Were you experiencing any slow response from the paddle shifters or seeing any stored error codes before the limp mode became constant? It does indeed sound suspiciously like the control unit.
