Mondeo automatic tailgate hall sensor issue

Hey, my 2004 Ford Mondeo with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The automatic tailgate is acting up. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, and the tailgate won't open fully. I suspect it might be the hall sensor, maybe a faulty connection?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Mondeo. Is the error message specifically pointing to the hall sensor? It could be a loose wire or a corroded plug. Think of it like a garden hose – if the connection is kinked, the water won't flow properly.

Yeah, the error code definitely points to the hall sensor. Where exactly should I be looking for these wires and plugs? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to dismantle half the trunk?

Okay, hall sensor it is! Honestly, unless you're really comfortable with auto electrics, I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop. Messing with it could cause more problems than you solve! For me it was a cable or plug connection of the component defective and the repair was 95€

Thanks for the advice! I think you're right. I'll take it to a shop and have them sort it out. Better safe than sorry, especially with electrical stuff. I will give feedback on how it went.
