Mondeo battery discharge issue

Experiencing a weird issue with my 2018 Ford Mondeo gasoline. It's done 173545 km. The battery keeps getting heavily discharged. Seeing an error message, weak and flickering lights, and stored errors. Starting the engine is a struggle. I suspect it might be a defective battery sensor. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had the exact same symptoms with my Mondeo! The battery drain was driving me nuts. Did it start happening after any specific event, like a service or a particularly cold spell?

Interesting! No, it started gradually, so I can't pinpoint any specific trigger. Did you also suspect the battery sensor, or was it something else entirely causing the discharge?

Yep, I was chasing shadows at first, thinking it was the alternator! Eventually, a diagnostic pointed to a faulty battery sensor. It was constantly sending incorrect data, leading to the battery being over or undercharged. Cost me around 315€ at the workshop to get it sorted.

Thanks a bunch for the info! It's good to know I'm on the right track with the battery sensor. I'll take it to the shop and get it checked. Seems like it could save me a lot of headaches and potential damage in the long run! Will let you know how it goes!
