Mondeo Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Fault

I'm seeing a weird issue in my 2019 Ford Mondeo Hybrid. At 124888 km, the speedometer is throwing error messages linked to a faulty brake booster pressure sensor, confirmed by the diagnostic tool. Feels like the brakes aren't biting as hard as they should. The error is logged. I've been wrenching on cars for years, and my gut says someone probably bled the brakes incorrectly when they last did some work on the hydraulic brakes and ABS system, and it screwed with the sensor. Anyone else run into this?

Whoa, that sounds intense! My old Fiesta did something similar after a brake job. You mentioned they might've bled the system wrong – could air be trapped somewhere, messing with the pressure readings? Did you check the brake lines for any kinks or leaks that could be throwing things off? I'm no expert but that brake performance stuff is spooky!

Good call on the air in the lines! I was so focused on the sensor itself, I didn't consider how that might be causing the error. But if it is air, wouldn't I feel a spongy pedal? Right now, it's more like I just have to press harder than usual. Is there any chance the master cylinder is affected?

Hmm, spongy pedal usually points to air, yeah. But inconsistent pressure could definitely mess with the sensor readings too, especially in a hybrid with all its fancy regenerative braking stuff linked to the ABS. Honestly, with brakes and error messages popping up, it might be worth swinging by a trusted workshop. They can hook it up to a proper diagnostic system and give you a definite answer. Plus, messing with the ABS without the right gear is asking for trouble. Better safe than sorry!

You're absolutely right. Better to be safe, and I need this ride to be top notch. I dropped her off at the shop today. Turns out you nailed it – a dodgy bleed job WAS the root cause! The sensor itself was fine, just reporting the incorrect pressures. 90€ later (mostly for labor and a proper bleed) and she's braking like new. Thanks a million for the sanity check – sometimes a fresh perspective is all it takes!
