Mondeo cruise control failure
Summary of the thread
The cruise control on a 2002 Ford Mondeo stopped working, displaying an error message and storing a fault. The initial suspicion was a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to check the wiring around the steering wheel and throttle body actuator, as faulty connections there could cause the issue. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a corroded connector on the throttle body, which was repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'throttle body actuator,' do you mean the plug connection, or is there something specific I should be looking for?

Yes, check the plug and the wiring going into it. But if you're not comfortable probing too deep, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. These electrical gremlins can be tricky. Might save you some time and headache.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turns out it was a corroded connector on the throttle body. Repair cost was 95€. Sorted now!

I had a similar issue with my Mondeo. Check the wiring around the steering wheel and also the throttle body actuator. A faulty connection there can cause cruise control to fail. Could be something simple.
