Mondeo cruise control malfunction

My 2011 Ford Mondeo with a gasoline engine has developed a fault. The cruise control has stopped working, and there's an error stored in the memory. The car only has 37253 km on the clock. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Any ideas before I start checking?

I had a similar issue with my Mondeo! Did the dashboard light come on? Have you checked the speed sensor? Could be a blown fuse, although that's just a guess.

Thanks for the reply. Which dashboard light are you referring to? And was your problem definitely the speed sensor, or could it be the throttle position or pedal switch?

Yes, definitely the speed sensor. The dashboard light for the cruise control system was blinking. If it's the same for you, I'd recommend visiting a workshop to get it checked properly.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a workshop as suggested. It turned out to be a defective cable connection, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. Cruise control is now working again.
