Mondeo fuel flap issue

I've got a 2015 Ford Mondeo diesel with about 80k km on the clock and I'm having a weird issue with the fuel flap. It just won't open. I get an error stored and it's completely locked shut. Locking/unlocking with the key fob makes no difference, and some other electrical functions seem a bit wonky too. Has anyone else experienced this? Thinking it might be a defective linkage, if there even is one on this model.

Whoa, that's a strange one. Electrical gremlins are the worst! Does the release button inside the car do anything? And have you checked the fuses? Maybe a fuse blew that controls the fuel door release and some other stuff. Just a thought – I'm no expert, mind you!

Yeah, I should have mentioned, the release button inside doesn't do anything either. I did check the fuses, or at least the ones I thought might be related, but everything seemed fine. Is there a specific fuse location you were thinking of? Maybe I missed one.

Hmm, if the interior button and the key fob aren't working and the fuses are good, it's probably something more involved than just a simple fix, sadly. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order, unfortunately. They'll be able to properly diagnose the fault and get it sorted for you.

Turns out it was a faulty actuator. Workshop confirmed it, replaced it, and all is working again. Cost me 210€, but at least it's fixed.
