Mondeo Hybrid High Voltage Error
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Ford Mondeo hybrid is experiencing a high-voltage system error, causing the engine to shut off randomly and reducing power. The issue is suspected to be related to the battery. A similar problem was resolved by checking the voltage sensor, which was suggested as a potential cause. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a heavily discharged hybrid battery due to a faulty cell, and the voltage sensor was also replaced, resolving the issue.

Voltage sensor, huh? Where is that located exactly, and how would I go about checking it? I'm not super tech-savvy but willing to give it a shot before throwing money at it.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure where it's located on the hybrid. I just know that's what the workshop guys told me was causing the battery drain. If you're not comfortable poking around, I'd strongly suggest taking it to a professional. Could save you a bigger headache and potentially a larger bill down the road.

Yeah, you're probably right. Bit the bullet and took it in. Turns out the hybrid battery was heavily discharged, likely due to a faulty cell. Repair cost me 290€, they also replaced the voltage sensor. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Mondeo (not the hybrid though) a while back. Kept getting battery warnings and the car felt like it was running on fumes. Have you checked the voltage sensor? That was my problem.
