Mondeo hybrid transmission fault
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Ford Mondeo Hybrid with 64,000 km is experiencing transmission issues, including an engine warning light and error related to the transmission oil pressure sensor. The gearbox occasionally enters emergency mode, slips, and makes grinding noises when shifting. The problem may be due to a faulty sensor or low gearbox oil level. The suggested solution is to have the gearbox oil level checked and topped up by a professional, as the gearbox is a sealed unit.

Thanks for the quick reply! To be honest, I haven't checked the gearbox oil level recently. Is it a straightforward process to check and top up, or does it require special tools or expertise?

You need to get it checked by a professional. The gearbox in our cars is a sealed unit. You can't just open it and see inside. So going to the workshop is inevitable, given your issues.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out the gearbox oil level was indeed too low, causing the sensor to trigger the error. They topped it up and cleared the error codes. Cost me 365€, but it's running smoothly again. Really appreciate your help!

Interesting. I had similar symptoms with my Mondeo. From what I can recall, those error codes are a sign that the oil pressure sensor is playing up because of low oil level in the gearbox. How long ago did you check your gearbox oil last?
