Mondeo Overheating Electric Fan

My 2017 Ford Mondeo, gasoline engine, is overheating. Mileage is 75k km. I suspect the electric fan. I checked; looks like it's likely a defective cable or plug connection.

Hey! I had a similar overheating issue with my old Opel Astra. Different beast, I know, but the symptoms sound familiar. Was the radiator fan not kicking in at all, even when the engine was clearly hot? Did you check the fan motor relay? That was my problem and fixed it! Also, could be the fan clutch, though that's more common on older cars...

Fan isn't kicking in at all, yeah. Where exactly is that relay located? And could that really be the issue, or could it be the fan motor itself?

On my Astra, it was in the main fuse box, under the hood. Check your car's manual for the exact location, it varies a lot between models. I'm no expert, but if the relay is gone, the motor won't get power. It's an easy check before suspecting the motor itself. But honestly, with electrical stuff, I prefer a workshop to take a look.

Thanks for the input. Ended up at the shop; you were right, a defective plug connection. 95€ and now it's fixed.
