Mondeo Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

My 2018 Ford Mondeo hybrid is acting up. The check engine light is on, it sometimes stalls at idle, and it feels like it's lost power. It has 48695 km on the clock. I'm thinking it might be the rail pressure sensor signal? Has anyone run into this before?

Faulty rail pressure sensor signal, huh? Could be a few things. Have you checked the wiring harness to the sensor for any damage or corrosion? What codes are you pulling? Does the engine stall only when it's warm, or cold too?

I haven't gone digging too deep yet, just a quick look. I'm getting code P0191. The engine stalls when it's warm mostly, but occasionally when it's cold too. Is there a way to test the sensor itself before I start ripping things apart?

P0191 confirms the rail pressure sensor issue. Testing the sensor directly can be tricky without the right equipment. Given the symptoms and the code, it's highly likely the sensor itself is failing. I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and replace the sensor properly.

I appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and you were spot on – the pressure sensor was buggered. They replaced it, and it cost me 240€. Runs like a champ now!
