Yes, the Opel had a code related to insufficient voltage to the heating element. Given your Mondeo's age and the symptoms, I'd recommend getting the battery professionally tested before digging deeper. Could save you a lot of time.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to the workshop. Indeed, the battery was the problem. It was replaced, and now the rear window heating works perfectly. The total repair cost was 290€.

I had a similar problem with my 2008 Opel Astra. The rear window defroster stopped working, and it turned out to be a voltage issue. Have you checked the battery's voltage output? A weak battery can definitely cause electrical gremlins.
