Mondeo Seat Heater Failure

Where would I find the thermal sensor? Is it part of the heating mat, or separate? Any tips on getting to it without taking apart the whole seat?

The sensor is usually in the heating mat. Since you're getting an error and no heat, and the mileage is low, the mat is probably faulty. Without special tools, it's tricky to diagnose. A reliable workshop could pinpoint it and replace the mat. It’ll save you time.

Took it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was the heating mat. Cost 390€ for the repair. Not great, but at least the seat's warm again. Thanks for the help!

I had something similar on my old Focus, not a Mondeo. Error codes and no heat usually mean it's the heating element. Have you checked the thermal sensor? They sometimes go bad and shut down the heater as a safety thing. It's easier than replacing the whole mat.
