Monza steering angle sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Monza owner experienced issues with the steering, including increased effort and vibrations, suspecting a faulty steering angle sensor. A suggestion was made to check the wheel alignment, as misalignment can affect the sensor's coding. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the steering angle sensor coding was faulty, and recoding resolved the issue.

Wheel alignment... hmm, hadn't thought of that. I haven't checked it recently. Is it possible that just throwing the alignment off would bork the angle sensor completely though? What exactly was your issue, and how did you fix it?

Yeah, it's not always obvious. In my case, the alignment being off triggered a fault in the steering angle sensor. The system got confused. Eventually had to get the sensor recoded after the alignment was fixed. Honestly, I'd take it to a decent workshop; they can diagnose it properly and save you a headache.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it. Turns out the steering angle sensor coding was indeed faulty. They recoded it, and everything's smooth now. Cost me 195€, but well worth it. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues on my Monza. Increased effort and vibrations, especially at certain speeds? Could be the steering angle sensor coding got messed up. Have you checked your wheel alignment recently? Misalignment can sometimes throw off the sensor.
