Movano AC Compressor Failure

My 2014 Renault Movano with a diesel engine has an issue. The AC refrigerant compressor failed around 77992 km. There's an error code, no cooling, the AC won't engage, and a warning light is on. I think it's the AC control unit. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a control unit issue. Before replacing it, did you check the refrigerant and compressor clutch? Also, check the wiring to the compressor and control unit for damage.

How do I check the refrigerant and compressor clutch? I have a multimeter and basic tools, but no special equipment. What voltage or resistance should I look for on the compressor clutch?

Visually check for refrigerant leaks at the compressor and lines. With the engine running and AC on, measure battery voltage at the clutch connector. If there's voltage but the clutch isn't engaging, the clutch may be bad. But the control unit is still the main suspect. Get it professionally diagnosed.

A Renault workshop confirmed the AC control unit was defective. The repair cost 980€, including parts and labor. The system is now working.
