Movano Airbag Warning Light

I've got a 2013 Renault Movano, diesel engine, with about 71k on the clock. The airbag warning light just popped up. I've checked under the seats for loose cables, and even jiggled a few connections I could reach, but no dice. Could it be a bad connection somewhere deeper in the system? This is a big vehicle safety concern, right?

I had something similar with my Movano. Not sure what year yours is, but that SRS light is annoying, isn't it? For me, it turned out to be a dodgy connector. Think of it like a loose wire on a lamp, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Have you scanned the computer for codes? That might give you a clue.

Thanks for the quick reply! A scanner, eh? I haven't gotten that far yet. Where exactly was the dodgy connector on your van? Was it difficult to get to? And did the scanner actually pinpoint the exact connector or just give a general 'airbag fault' kind of code?

It was a while ago, so the exact location is hazy. I think it was somewhere behind the glove box. The scanner gave a general code, but the workshop guys knew their stuff, found the faulty connector and fixed it. I'd say get it scanned; if it comes back as an airbag issue, bite the bullet and take it to a decent workshop. Playing around with airbags without the right tools and knowledge is like juggling grenades.

Cheers, much appreciated! I'll book it in for a scan and go from there. Sounds like that's the safest bet. Got a quote for about 95€ for potential repairs, sounds reasonable, considering it's a restraint system issue.
