Movano Brake Light Error
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Movano owner experienced issues with brake lights not working and an error message on the infotainment system. Despite checking bulbs and fuses, the problem persisted. A suggestion was made to inspect the brake light switch, typically located near the brake pedal, as a potential cause. After checking, the issue was resolved by ensuring the brake pedal was properly engaged during re-installation.

Brake light switch, eh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where exactly is it, and is it easy enough to get to? Any special tools needed, or is it a pretty straightforward swap?

Yep, brake light switch. On my Astra, it was right above the brake pedal, held in with a clip or maybe a small bolt. Should be an easy swap – just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. But honestly, with the Movano being a van, it might be a bit cramped under there. If you're not comfortable contorting yourself, might be worth getting a mechanic to take a quick look. Best case, 0€ cost.

Turns out you were spot on, just as you said. It was a user error and I didn't push the brake pedal far enough when re-installing. All sorted, thanks a lot!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar gremlin with my old Vauxhall Astra a while back. Brake light switch was the culprit. Have you had a look at that? It's usually located near the brake pedal.
