Movano Crankshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Renault Movano diesel is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption. A diagnostic scan indicates a problem with the crankshaft to camshaft reference value, suggesting a faulty crankshaft sensor. Replacing the defective sensor resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Yeah, the code is about timing and synchronization between the crankshaft and camshaft. It points to a fault with the crankshaft sensor, saying the reference value is off. But is it really that simple, or could it be something worse like the timing chain?

In my case, the fault code pointed right at the sensor, and it was the problem. I didn't want to risk a big repair and went straight to the shop. Have you thought about doing that?

Thanks for sharing your experience! I took it to a workshop like you suggested. The crankshaft sensor was indeed defective. The repair, sensor and labor, was around 340€. Everything's running great now!

I had the exact same thing happen with my Movano. Same symptoms, engine light, loss of power, the works. Did the fault code say anything about timing or synchronization? Maybe even misfire?
