Movano Oil Pressure Warning Light

My 2007 Renault Movano diesel has a persistent error message and intermittent oil pressure warning. Diagnostics point to a possible fault with the oil level sensor or signal disruption. I've checked the cable and plug. Anyone seen this?

Summary of the thread

A 2007 Renault Movano diesel is experiencing a persistent error message and intermittent oil pressure warning, potentially due to a fault with the oil level sensor or signal disruption. Diagnostics suggest checking the wiring harness for corrosion or looseness, particularly at the sensor connector. Cleaning the connector may provide a temporary fix, but replacing it is recommended for a more permanent solution.

I had something similar last year on my Movano. Oil pressure light flickered and the computer threw a code related to the oil level. Check the wiring harness going to the sensor itself – might be corroded or loose.

Could you elaborate on the location or characteristics of the wiring harness? Any more detail on the symptoms would also be appreciated.

It was definitely the harness connector right at the oil level sensor. It was all green. Cleaning it only worked for a week. My local workshop replaced the connector, thankfully not too expensive! Maybe save yourself time and do the same!

Your advice was invaluable. It was a defective cable connection. A workshop repaired it for 95€.
