Movano Rail Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Renault Movano diesel exhibited issues such as the check engine light being on, engine stalling when idling, and a drop in power. A diagnostic scan indicated a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. The problem worsened when the engine warmed up. It was suggested to check the wiring, but the sensor was identified as the likely culprit. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, the faulty pressure sensor was confirmed and replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks. It seems worse after the engine warms up. Does that sound like what you experienced? Can you give me more details?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. It got worse after the engine warmed up. Given the diagnostic code, a bad sensor is likely the cause. You could test the wiring, but the sensor is the usual suspect. I'd suggest getting a workshop to check it before you replace anything.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the pressure sensor was faulty. The replacement cost 240€. The problem is fixed now.

I had a similar issue with my Renault Movano, though it wasn't the same year. Your symptoms sound very familiar. Reduced power and stalling could be related to the fuel pressure. Does it happen all the time, or more when the engine is warm?
