Summary of the thread
A 2009 Renault Movano diesel is experiencing a rear window heating issue, with stored errors and windshield heating problems. The suspected cause is a heavily discharged or defective battery. After checking the battery, it was confirmed to be the issue, and replacing it resolved the heating and other electrical problems.

Yeah, I suspected the battery. Did your Saab's symptoms include other seemingly unrelated electrical problems?

Spot on. The Saab had issues with the central locking and sometimes the indicators would flicker. Replacing the battery sorted it all. Might be worth getting it checked professionally; could save you a lot of headache. Cost me around 290€ in the workshop. Just saying!

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. Took your advice and had the battery checked. You were bang on; heavily discharged and knackered. New battery sorted the window heater and everything else. Cheers for the help!

Sounds familiar! Had similar gremlins with my old Saab 9-3. Rear window heater packed in, and it threw all sorts of weird electrical errors. Ever checked your battery's health? It's like the heart of the car; if it's weak, everything else suffers.
