Movano Transmission Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Renault Movano diesel is experiencing automatic transmission issues, with implausible shifting and a persistent transmission indicator light, suggesting it might be stuck in emergency mode. Possible causes include undervoltage or worn transmission oil. A suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop, focusing on the transmission oil, which may need replacement to resolve the shifting problems.

Thanks! Can you tell me a bit more about what you experienced, and maybe what you did to fix it? Did the emergency mode kick in for you too? Any details would be a lifesaver!

Yup, emergency mode was definitely a thing. Seriously, get it checked at a workshop. Could be the transmission oil, especially if it's worn. It ended up costing me around 240€, but at least it fixed the shifting.

Thank you so much for sharing! It's a relief to know I'm not alone in this Movano transmission nightmare. I'll definitely take your advice and get it to a workshop ASAP for a proper diagnosis and oil replacement. Hopefully, that'll sort things out.

Whoa, sounds rough! I had similar transmission problems with my Movano. The shifting went totally bonkers, and that light was always on. I was super frustrated, since I had to replace the hydraulic fluid once.
